Question 1

What do front end 2016 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 40 recorded sales of the 2016 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG with front end damage, the median was $5,200, from $3,150 to $9,100. That is 14% above the $4,550 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,000 a good price for this 2016 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG?

Accepted Answer

86 comparable 2016 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG listings sold at auction for a median of $4,550, spanning $3,225 to $8,200. At $3,000 this one went 34% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG's pre-damage retail value at $10,457. It sold for $3,000 — 71% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

Is 119,496 miles high for a 2016 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG listings at auction averaged 111,075 miles across 86 sales, so at 119,496 miles this one sits 8% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in NC - MEBANE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Charleston, roughly 280 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$325, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.
