Question 1

Was $8,000 a good price for this 2018 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN?

Accepted Answer

2019 comparable 2018 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN listings sold at auction for a median of $4,350, spanning $3,300 to $6,400. At $8,000 this one went 84% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

What does a bill of sale mean for this VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN was sold on a bill of sale. The title type is the auction's own classification and determines what can legally be done with the vehicle afterwards.

Question 3

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in WA - PUYALLUP. The nearest major vehicle export port is Tacoma, roughly 60 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

Is 54,229 miles high for a 2018 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN listings at auction averaged 98,202 miles across 2019 sales, so at 54,229 miles this one sits 45% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Who sold this 2018 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN?

Accepted Answer

The listing seller was PROGRESSIVE. Seller type is a useful signal: insurers typically consign total-loss vehicles, rental and fleet operators consign on a cycle regardless of damage, and dealers consign trade-ins they do not want to retail. Each implies a different history behind the same damage label.
