Question 1

Was $6,500 a good price for this 2021 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN?

Accepted Answer

1798 comparable 2021 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN listings sold at auction for a median of $5,600, spanning $3,550 to $8,700. At $6,500 this one went 16% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

What does a salvage mean for this VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN?

Accepted Answer

This 2021 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN was sold on a salvage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 3

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in NY - SCHENECTADY. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 160 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

Is 43,203 miles high for a 2021 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2021 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN listings at auction averaged 66,626 miles across 1798 sales, so at 43,203 miles this one sits 35% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2021 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Did this 2021 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN come with keys?

Accepted Answer

Yes — this lot was listed with keys present, which usually means the vehicle could at least be started or moved at the yard. Combined with exterior burn damage, that tells you more about its condition than the damage label alone.
