Question 1

What do front end 2022 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 651 recorded sales of the 2022 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS with front end damage, the median was $5,400, from $3,350 to $8,600. That is 7% below the $5,800 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $6,500 a good price for this 2022 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS?

Accepted Answer

1347 comparable 2022 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS listings sold at auction for a median of $5,800, spanning $3,450 to $9,200. At $6,500 this one went 12% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this VOLKSWAGEN TAOS sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2022 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS's pre-damage retail value at $16,199. It sold for $6,500 — 60% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

Is 70,826 miles high for a 2022 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2022 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS listings at auction averaged 54,773 miles across 1347 sales, so at 70,826 miles this one sits 29% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN TAOS from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in IL - ELGIN. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 700 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $450-$675, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

This VOLKSWAGEN TAOS has front end and side damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.
