Question 1

What do rear end 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 77 recorded sales of the 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS with rear end damage, the median was $6,800, from $3,900 to $9,100. That is 5% above the $6,450 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $8,700 a good price for this 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS?

Accepted Answer

918 comparable 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS listings sold at auction for a median of $6,450, spanning $3,750 to $9,425. At $8,700 this one went 35% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this VOLKSWAGEN TAOS sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS's pre-damage retail value at $19,407. It sold for $8,700 — 55% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN TAOS from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in IL - CAHOKIA HEIGHTS. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 700 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $450-$675, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does a salvage title mean for this VOLKSWAGEN TAOS?

Accepted Answer

This 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 6

Is 32,770 miles high for a 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS listings at auction averaged 39,365 miles across 918 sales, so at 32,770 miles this one sits 17% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
