Question 1

What do normal wear & tear 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 13 recorded sales of the 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS with normal wear & tear damage, the median was $19,650, from $5,200 to $20,250. That is 202% above the $6,500 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $20,400 a good price for this 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS?

Accepted Answer

884 comparable 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS listings sold at auction for a median of $6,500, spanning $3,800 to $9,500. At $20,400 this one went 214% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This VOLKSWAGEN TAOS sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN TAOS from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in WV - SHINNSTON. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 300 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does a clear mean for this VOLKSWAGEN TAOS?

Accepted Answer

This 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS was sold on a clear. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 6

Is 52,669 miles high for a 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS listings at auction averaged 38,805 miles across 884 sales, so at 52,669 miles this one sits 36% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
