Question 1

What do front & rear 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 10 recorded sales of the 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS with front & rear damage, the median was $5,938, from $3,600 to $7,850. That is 9% below the $6,525 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $7,500 a good price for this 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS?

Accepted Answer

883 comparable 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS listings sold at auction for a median of $6,525, spanning $3,800 to $9,500. At $7,500 this one went 15% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN TAOS from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in NJ - SAYREVILLE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 30 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

Is 31,273 miles high for a 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS listings at auction averaged 38,757 miles across 883 sales, so at 31,273 miles this one sits 19% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

Did this 2023 VOLKSWAGEN TAOS come with keys?

Accepted Answer

Yes — this lot was listed with keys present, which usually means the vehicle could at least be started or moved at the yard. Combined with front & rear damage, that tells you more about its condition than the damage label alone.
