Question 1

What do rear end 2021 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 50 recorded sales of the 2021 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT with rear end damage, the median was $4,825, from $3,550 to $6,900. That is 11% above the $4,350 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $6,500 a good price for this 2021 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

443 comparable 2021 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT listings sold at auction for a median of $4,350, spanning $3,200 to $6,600. At $6,500 this one went 49% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2021 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT's pre-damage retail value at $13,892. It sold for $6,500 — 53% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2021 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

Is 74,459 miles high for a 2021 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2021 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT listings at auction averaged 75,900 miles across 443 sales, so at 74,459 miles this one sits 2% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

This VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT has rear end and side damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.
