Question 1

What do minor dent/scratches 2018 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 16 recorded sales of the 2018 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT with minor dent/scratches damage, the median was $3,750, from $3,200 to $4,800. That is 3% above the $3,650 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,100 a good price for this 2018 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

398 comparable 2018 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT listings sold at auction for a median of $3,650, spanning $3,100 to $5,000. At $3,100 this one went 15% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

What does a salvage title mean for this VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 5

Is 111,434 miles high for a 2018 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT listings at auction averaged 82,470 miles across 398 sales, so at 111,434 miles this one sits 35% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in LA - GREENWELL SPRINGS. The nearest major vehicle export port is New Orleans, roughly 130 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.
