Question 1

What does a ab-salvage-alberta mean for this VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

This 2021 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT was sold on a ab-salvage-alberta. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 2

This VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT has left rear and left side damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 3

Is 97,807 miles high for a 2021 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2021 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT listings at auction averaged 75,546 miles across 437 sales, so at 97,807 miles this one sits 29% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 4

Where was this VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT located?

Accepted Answer

The lot was held at IAAI in ALBERTA - ACHESON. Location sets the inland transport cost to a port or a repair shop, and state title rules differ, so two otherwise identical cars can be worth noticeably different amounts.

Question 5

Did this 2021 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT come with keys?

Accepted Answer

Yes — this lot was listed with keys present, which usually means the vehicle could at least be started or moved at the yard. Combined with left rear damage, that tells you more about its condition than the damage label alone.

Question 6

What can I find out from VIN 1VWBA7A31MC015938?
