Question 1

What do rear 2020 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 18 recorded sales of the 2020 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT with rear damage, the median was $4,050, from $3,200 to $5,100. That is 5% below the $4,250 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,650 a good price for this 2020 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

511 comparable 2020 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT listings sold at auction for a median of $4,250, spanning $3,200 to $6,300. At $3,650 this one went 14% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in NY - MEDFORD. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 160 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does a bill of sale mean for this VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

This 2020 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT was sold on a bill of sale. The title type is the auction's own classification and determines what can legally be done with the vehicle afterwards.

Question 6

Is 999,999 miles high for a 2020 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2020 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT listings at auction averaged 77,885 miles across 511 sales, so at 999,999 miles this one sits 1184% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
