Question 1

What do left front 2018 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 12 recorded sales of the 2018 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT with left front damage, the median was $3,700, from $3,050 to $4,250. That is 1% above the $3,650 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $4,450 a good price for this 2018 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

399 comparable 2018 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT listings sold at auction for a median of $3,650, spanning $3,100 to $5,000. At $4,450 this one went 22% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a clear mean for this VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT was sold on a clear. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

Is 98,662 miles high for a 2018 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT listings at auction averaged 82,469 miles across 399 sales, so at 98,662 miles this one sits 20% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in IN - INDIANAPOLIS. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 600 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $500-$725, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.
