Question 1

What do left front 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 14 recorded sales of the 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT with left front damage, the median was $3,200, from $3,000 to $3,700. That is 9% below the $3,500 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,675 a good price for this 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

511 comparable 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT listings sold at auction for a median of $3,500, spanning $3,050 to $4,650. At $3,675 this one went 5% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a salvage title-ia mean for this VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT was sold on a salvage title-ia. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 4

This VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT has left front and right side damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 5

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 48,821 miles high for a 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT listings at auction averaged 88,514 miles across 511 sales, so at 48,821 miles this one sits 45% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
