Question 1

What do front end 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 181 recorded sales of the 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT with front end damage, the median was $3,400, from $3,100 to $4,450. That is 3% below the $3,500 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

This VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

What does a salvage mean for this VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT was sold on a salvage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 4

Is 99,343 miles high for a 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT listings at auction averaged 88,575 miles across 504 sales, so at 99,343 miles this one sits 12% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

Who sold this 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

The listing seller was PROGRESSIVE. Seller type is a useful signal: insurers typically consign total-loss vehicles, rental and fleet operators consign on a cycle regardless of damage, and dealers consign trade-ins they do not want to retail. Each implies a different history behind the same damage label.

Question 6

Can I buy this 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT from AutoBidCar?

Accepted Answer

No. AutoBidCar is an archive of past auction listings, not a seller — we have never owned this vehicle. This 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT was listed at IAAI as lot 46212200 and any sale happened there. We publish the record so buyers can research what comparable vehicles actually sold for.
