Question 1

What does a clear mean for this VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT was sold on a clear. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 2

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in VT - ESSEX JUNCTION. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 300 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 3

Is 164,839 miles high for a 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT listings at auction averaged 88,575 miles across 504 sales, so at 164,839 miles this one sits 86% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 4

What can I find out from VIN 1VWDT7A34HC001055?

Accepted Answer

1VWDT7A34HC001055 identifies this specific 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT in grey with a 1.8l i-4 di, dohc, vvt, turbo, regular , 170hp engine, front wheel drive. This page covers its auction history only. For ownership, servicing and reported accidents, run the VIN through Carfax, AutoCheck or NMVTIS — those records are separate from ours and we cannot change them.

Question 5

Can I buy this 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT from AutoBidCar?

Accepted Answer

No. AutoBidCar is an archive of past auction listings, not a seller — we have never owned this vehicle. This 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT was listed at IAAI as lot 46336984 and any sale happened there. We publish the record so buyers can research what comparable vehicles actually sold for.

Question 6

Did this 2017 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT come with keys?

Accepted Answer

Yes — this lot was listed with keys present, which usually means the vehicle could at least be started or moved at the yard. Combined with normal wear & tear damage, that tells you more about its condition than the damage label alone.
