Question 1

What do left front 2017 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 22 recorded sales of the 2017 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA with left front damage, the median was $3,300, from $3,025 to $3,725. That is 6% below the $3,500 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,600 a good price for this 2017 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA?

Accepted Answer

963 comparable 2017 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA listings sold at auction for a median of $3,500, spanning $3,050 to $4,800. At $3,600 this one went 3% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a clear mean for this VOLKSWAGEN JETTA?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA was sold on a clear. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 4

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN JETTA from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in NJ - AVENEL. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 30 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

Is 185,450 miles high for a 2017 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA listings at auction averaged 96,054 miles across 963 sales, so at 185,450 miles this one sits 93% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.
