Question 1

This VOLKSWAGEN JETTA sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 2

This VOLKSWAGEN JETTA has left side and front end damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 3

Is 118,761 miles high for a 2018 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA listings at auction averaged 83,965 miles across 258 sales, so at 118,761 miles this one sits 41% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 4

What can I find out from VIN 3VWD17AJ5JM231762?

Accepted Answer

3VWD17AJ5JM231762 identifies this specific 2018 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA in black with a 1.8l i-4 di, dohc, vvt, turbo, regular , 170hp engine, front wheel drive. This page covers its auction history only. For ownership, servicing and reported accidents, run the VIN through Carfax, AutoCheck or NMVTIS — those records are separate from ours and we cannot change them.

Question 5

Can I buy this 2018 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA from AutoBidCar?

Accepted Answer

No. AutoBidCar is an archive of past auction listings, not a seller — we have never owned this vehicle. This 2018 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA was listed at IAAI as lot 46237447 and any sale happened there. We publish the record so buyers can research what comparable vehicles actually sold for.
