Question 1

Was $11,000 a good price for this 2022 VOLKSWAGEN ID.4?

Accepted Answer

226 comparable 2022 VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 listings sold at auction for a median of $8,700, spanning $4,700 to $13,000. At $11,000 this one went 26% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

How much below its undamaged value did this VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2022 VOLKSWAGEN ID.4's pre-damage retail value at $23,125. It sold for $11,000 — 52% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 3

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in NY - MARLBORO. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 160 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

This VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 has top/roof and front end damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 5

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2022 VOLKSWAGEN ID.4. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 18,900 miles high for a 2022 VOLKSWAGEN ID.4?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2022 VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 listings at auction averaged 38,686 miles across 226 sales, so at 18,900 miles this one sits 51% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
