Question 1

Was $20,450 a good price for this 2023 VOLKSWAGEN ID.4?

Accepted Answer

870 comparable 2023 VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 listings sold at auction for a median of $9,800, spanning $5,300 to $14,250. At $20,450 this one went 109% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

This VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

What does a clear mean for this VOLKSWAGEN ID.4?

Accepted Answer

This 2023 VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 was sold on a clear. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 4

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in CA - GARDENA. The nearest major vehicle export port is Long Beach, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

Is 23,737 miles high for a 2023 VOLKSWAGEN ID.4?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2023 VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 listings at auction averaged 28,232 miles across 870 sales, so at 23,737 miles this one sits 16% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

What can I find out from VIN 1V2DNPE83PC016453?

Accepted Answer
