Question 1

Was $6,900 a good price for this 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GTI?

Accepted Answer

195 comparable 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GTI listings sold at auction for a median of $5,500, spanning $3,650 to $8,100. At $6,900 this one went 25% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

How much below its undamaged value did this VOLKSWAGEN GTI sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GTI's pre-damage retail value at $21,925. It sold for $6,900 — 69% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 3

What does a clean title mean for this VOLKSWAGEN GTI?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GTI was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 4

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GTI. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN GTI from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in OH - NORTHFIELD. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 430 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $375-$525, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 110,747 miles high for a 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GTI?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GTI listings at auction averaged 80,087 miles across 195 sales, so at 110,747 miles this one sits 38% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
