Question 1

What do side 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GTI models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 31 recorded sales of the 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GTI with side damage, the median was $5,750, from $4,000 to $7,700. That is 3% above the $5,600 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $4,650 a good price for this 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GTI?

Accepted Answer

204 comparable 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GTI listings sold at auction for a median of $5,600, spanning $3,650 to $8,200. At $4,650 this one went 17% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this VOLKSWAGEN GTI sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GTI's pre-damage retail value at $15,001. It sold for $4,650 — 69% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a non-repairable mean for this VOLKSWAGEN GTI?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GTI was sold on a non-repairable. That is the most restrictive category: in most US states the vehicle cannot be retitled for road use and is intended for parts or export only. Import rules vary by country, so check locally before bidding.

Question 5

Is 91,009 miles high for a 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GTI?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GTI listings at auction averaged 80,495 miles across 204 sales, so at 91,009 miles this one sits 13% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN GTI from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in FL - OPA LOCKA. The nearest major vehicle export port is Jacksonville, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.
