Question 1

What do rear end 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GTI models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 49 recorded sales of the 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GTI with rear end damage, the median was $4,900, from $3,650 to $6,200. That is 9% above the $4,500 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

This VOLKSWAGEN GTI sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN GTI from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in GA - GAINESVILLE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Savannah, roughly 250 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $300-$450, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

Is 96,722 miles high for a 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GTI?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GTI listings at auction averaged 99,001 miles across 426 sales, so at 96,722 miles this one sits 2% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

This VOLKSWAGEN GTI has rear end and damage history damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

What can I find out from VIN 3VW447AU3HM064989?

Accepted Answer

For ownership, servicing and reported accidents, run the VIN through Carfax, AutoCheck or NMVTIS — those records are separate from ours and we cannot change them.
