Question 1

Was $6,650 a good price for this 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GTI?

Accepted Answer

278 comparable 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GTI listings sold at auction for a median of $4,000, spanning $3,150 to $5,700. At $6,650 this one went 66% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

What does a clean title mean for this VOLKSWAGEN GTI?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GTI was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 3

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN GTI from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in OR - PORTLAND. The nearest major vehicle export port is Tacoma, roughly 180 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $225-$325, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

What does "ENHANCED" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENHANCED is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GTI. It marks a lot the auction has given extra listing prominence, not a statement about condition. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

Is 79,578 miles high for a 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GTI?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GTI listings at auction averaged 100,083 miles across 278 sales, so at 79,578 miles this one sits 20% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

Did this 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GTI come with keys?

Accepted Answer

Yes — this lot was listed with keys present, which usually means the vehicle could at least be started or moved at the yard. Combined with normal wear damage, that tells you more about its condition than the damage label alone.
