Question 1

What do rear end 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GTI models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 53 recorded sales of the 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GTI with rear end damage, the median was $4,275, from $3,150 to $5,800. That is 6% above the $4,050 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $4,100 a good price for this 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GTI?

Accepted Answer

276 comparable 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GTI listings sold at auction for a median of $4,050, spanning $3,200 to $5,700. At $4,100 this one went 1% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a clean title mean for this VOLKSWAGEN GTI?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GTI was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 4

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN GTI from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in OH - MORAINE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 430 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $375-$525, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GTI. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 135,621 miles high for a 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GTI?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 VOLKSWAGEN GTI listings at auction averaged 99,791 miles across 276 sales, so at 135,621 miles this one sits 36% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
