Question 1

What do side 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 16 recorded sales of the 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF with side damage, the median was $4,350, from $3,300 to $10,000. That is 9% above the $3,988 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $4,200 a good price for this 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF?

Accepted Answer

137 comparable 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF listings sold at auction for a median of $3,988, spanning $3,150 to $8,300. At $4,200 this one went 5% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a salvage title mean for this VOLKSWAGEN GOLF?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN GOLF from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in FL - ORLANDO. The nearest major vehicle export port is Jacksonville, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 43,451 miles high for a 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF listings at auction averaged 76,303 miles across 137 sales, so at 43,451 miles this one sits 43% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
