Question 1

What do side 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 28 recorded sales of the 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF with side damage, the median was $3,800, from $3,100 to $6,800. That is 3% below the $3,900 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $8,100 a good price for this 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF?

Accepted Answer

328 comparable 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF listings sold at auction for a median of $3,900, spanning $3,150 to $6,400. At $8,100 this one went 108% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this VOLKSWAGEN GOLF sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF's pre-damage retail value at $21,200. It sold for $8,100 — 62% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a salvage title mean for this VOLKSWAGEN GOLF?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 5

This VOLKSWAGEN GOLF has side and rear end damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Is 159,257 miles high for a 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF listings at auction averaged 76,474 miles across 328 sales, so at 159,257 miles this one sits 108% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
