Question 1

What do rear 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 13 recorded sales of the 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF with rear damage, the median was $3,900, from $3,175 to $5,500. That is 1% below the $3,925 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $8,200 a good price for this 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF?

Accepted Answer

331 comparable 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF listings sold at auction for a median of $3,925, spanning $3,150 to $6,300. At $8,200 this one went 109% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

What does a clear mean for this VOLKSWAGEN GOLF?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF was sold on a clear. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 4

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN GOLF from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in IN - SOUTH BEND. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 600 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $500-$725, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

Is 65,170 miles high for a 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF listings at auction averaged 76,697 miles across 331 sales, so at 65,170 miles this one sits 15% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.
