Question 1

What do rear end 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 51 recorded sales of the 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF with rear end damage, the median was $3,850, from $3,150 to $6,300. That is 3% below the $3,950 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,350 a good price for this 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF?

Accepted Answer

337 comparable 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF listings sold at auction for a median of $3,950, spanning $3,150 to $6,400. At $3,350 this one went 15% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this VOLKSWAGEN GOLF sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF's pre-damage retail value at $14,436. It sold for $3,350 — 77% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

Is 31,973 miles high for a 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF listings at auction averaged 76,523 miles across 337 sales, so at 31,973 miles this one sits 58% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN GOLF from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in CO - COLORADO SPRINGS. The nearest major vehicle export port is Houston, roughly 1,030 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $675-$975, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

This VOLKSWAGEN GOLF has rear end and rejected repair damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.
