Question 1

What do hail 2019 VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 80 recorded sales of the 2019 VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS with hail damage, the median was $6,513, from $4,100 to $10,000. That is 40% above the $4,650 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $5,900 a good price for this 2019 VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS?

Accepted Answer

1634 comparable 2019 VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS listings sold at auction for a median of $4,650, spanning $3,350 to $7,100. At $5,900 this one went 27% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2019 VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS's pre-damage retail value at $12,416. It sold for $5,900 — 52% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in MN - HAM LAKE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 1,100 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $725-$1,050, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2019 VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 96,958 miles high for a 2019 VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2019 VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS listings at auction averaged 94,509 miles across 1634 sales, so at 96,958 miles this one sits 3% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
