Question 1

What do side 2022 VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 133 recorded sales of the 2022 VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS with side damage, the median was $8,000, from $5,400 to $13,200. That is 11% above the $7,200 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $12,000 a good price for this 2022 VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS?

Accepted Answer

991 comparable 2022 VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS listings sold at auction for a median of $7,200, spanning $4,100 to $12,800. At $12,000 this one went 67% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in IL - ELGIN. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 700 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $450-$675, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2022 VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

Is 21,887 miles high for a 2022 VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2022 VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS listings at auction averaged 57,991 miles across 991 sales, so at 21,887 miles this one sits 62% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

This VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS has side and rear end damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.
