Question 1

Was $8,950 a good price for this 2021 VOLKSWAGEN ARTEON?

Accepted Answer

137 comparable 2021 VOLKSWAGEN ARTEON listings sold at auction for a median of $7,500, spanning $4,150 to $13,300. At $8,950 this one went 19% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

What does a salvage mean for this VOLKSWAGEN ARTEON?

Accepted Answer

This 2021 VOLKSWAGEN ARTEON was sold on a salvage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 3

How far is this VOLKSWAGEN ARTEON from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in NY - ROCK TAVERN. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 160 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2021 VOLKSWAGEN ARTEON. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

Is 33,695 miles high for a 2021 VOLKSWAGEN ARTEON?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2021 VOLKSWAGEN ARTEON listings at auction averaged 54,030 miles across 137 sales, so at 33,695 miles this one sits 38% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

This VOLKSWAGEN ARTEON has flood and unknown damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.
