Question 1

Was $28,150 a good price for this 2020 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER?

Accepted Answer

2008 comparable 2020 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER listings sold at auction for a median of $13,100, spanning $7,400 to $18,650. At $28,150 this one went 115% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

This TOYOTA HIGHLANDER sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

How far is this TOYOTA HIGHLANDER from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in TX - HOUSTON. The nearest major vehicle export port is Houston, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

Is 59,144 miles high for a 2020 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2020 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER listings at auction averaged 86,773 miles across 2008 sales, so at 59,144 miles this one sits 32% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

What can I find out from VIN 5TDYZRAH8LS011816?

Accepted Answer

5TDYZRAH8LS011816 identifies this specific 2020 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER with a 3.5l v-6 di, dohc, vvt, 295hp engine, front wheel drive. This page covers its auction history only. For ownership, servicing and reported accidents, run the VIN through Carfax, AutoCheck or NMVTIS — those records are separate from ours and we cannot change them.

Question 6

Can I buy this 2020 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER from AutoBidCar?

Accepted Answer

No. AutoBidCar is an archive of past auction listings, not a seller — we have never owned this vehicle. This 2020 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER was listed at IAAI as lot 42935489 and any sale happened there. We publish the record so buyers can research what comparable vehicles actually sold for.
