Question 1

What do front end 2017 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 1543 recorded sales of the 2017 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER with front end damage, the median was $7,500, from $4,150 to $10,900. That is 6% below the $8,000 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $12,400 a good price for this 2017 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER?

Accepted Answer

3086 comparable 2017 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER listings sold at auction for a median of $8,000, spanning $4,400 to $11,900. At $12,400 this one went 55% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this TOYOTA HIGHLANDER sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER's pre-damage retail value at $16,334. It sold for $12,400 — 24% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

Is 164,781 miles high for a 2017 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER listings at auction averaged 122,493 miles across 3086 sales, so at 164,781 miles this one sits 35% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

How far is this TOYOTA HIGHLANDER from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in MN - HAM LAKE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 1,100 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $725-$1,050, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.
