Question 1

What do front end 2020 TESLA MODEL Y models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 459 recorded sales of the 2020 TESLA MODEL Y with front end damage, the median was $7,300, from $4,350 to $11,100. That is 6% below the $7,800 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $9,500 a good price for this 2020 TESLA MODEL Y?

Accepted Answer

1104 comparable 2020 TESLA MODEL Y listings sold at auction for a median of $7,800, spanning $4,800 to $11,300. At $9,500 this one went 22% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

This TESLA MODEL Y sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 4

How much below its undamaged value did this TESLA MODEL Y sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2020 TESLA MODEL Y's pre-damage retail value at $38,601. It sold for $9,500 — 75% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 5

What does a salvage vehicle title mean for this TESLA MODEL Y?

Accepted Answer

This 2020 TESLA MODEL Y was sold on a salvage vehicle title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 6

Is 42,636 miles high for a 2020 TESLA MODEL Y?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2020 TESLA MODEL Y listings at auction averaged 74,588 miles across 1104 sales, so at 42,636 miles this one sits 43% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
