Question 1

Was $26,600 a good price for this 2023 TESLA MODEL S?

Accepted Answer

324 comparable 2023 TESLA MODEL S listings sold at auction for a median of $17,800, spanning $7,900 to $26,600. At $26,600 this one went 49% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

This TESLA MODEL S sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

What does a salvage mean for this TESLA MODEL S?

Accepted Answer

This 2023 TESLA MODEL S was sold on a salvage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 4

How far is this TESLA MODEL S from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in FL - LAKE CITY. The nearest major vehicle export port is Jacksonville, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2023 TESLA MODEL S. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 26,327 miles high for a 2023 TESLA MODEL S?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2023 TESLA MODEL S listings at auction averaged 26,859 miles across 324 sales, so at 26,327 miles this one sits 2% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
