Question 1

This TESLA MODEL S sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 2

How far is this TESLA MODEL S from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in CO - LITTLETON. The nearest major vehicle export port is Houston, roughly 1,030 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $675-$975, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 3

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 TESLA MODEL S. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 4

Is 55,849 miles high for a 2018 TESLA MODEL S?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 TESLA MODEL S listings at auction averaged 83,357 miles across 749 sales, so at 55,849 miles this one sits 33% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

Can I buy this 2018 TESLA MODEL S from AutoBidCar?

Accepted Answer

No. AutoBidCar is an archive of past auction listings, not a seller — we have never owned this vehicle. This 2018 TESLA MODEL S was listed at COPART as lot 54440462 and any sale happened there. We publish the record so buyers can research what comparable vehicles actually sold for.

Question 6

What can I find out from VIN 5YJSA1E26JF292455?

Accepted Answer

5YJSA1E26JF292455 identifies this specific 2018 TESLA MODEL S in black, all wheel drive. This page covers its auction history only. For ownership, servicing and reported accidents, run the VIN through Carfax, AutoCheck or NMVTIS — those records are separate from ours and we cannot change them.
