Question 1

What do minor dent/scratches 2016 TESLA MODEL S models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 37 recorded sales of the 2016 TESLA MODEL S with minor dent/scratches damage, the median was $5,350, from $3,800 to $7,700. That is 8% above the $4,950 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $5,600 a good price for this 2016 TESLA MODEL S?

Accepted Answer

1003 comparable 2016 TESLA MODEL S listings sold at auction for a median of $4,950, spanning $3,350 to $7,500. At $5,600 this one went 13% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this TESLA MODEL S sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 TESLA MODEL S's pre-damage retail value at $25,000. It sold for $5,600 — 78% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a clean title mean for this TESLA MODEL S?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 TESLA MODEL S was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 5

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 TESLA MODEL S. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 87,476 miles high for a 2016 TESLA MODEL S?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 TESLA MODEL S listings at auction averaged 105,357 miles across 1003 sales, so at 87,476 miles this one sits 17% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
