Question 1

What do rear end 2016 TESLA MODEL S models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 103 recorded sales of the 2016 TESLA MODEL S with rear end damage, the median was $5,150, from $3,450 to $7,900. That is 4% above the $4,950 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $4,600 a good price for this 2016 TESLA MODEL S?

Accepted Answer

963 comparable 2016 TESLA MODEL S listings sold at auction for a median of $4,950, spanning $3,350 to $7,500. At $4,600 this one went 7% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How far is this TESLA MODEL S from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in CA - SAN DIEGO. The nearest major vehicle export port is Long Beach, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

This TESLA MODEL S has rear end and side damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 5

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 TESLA MODEL S. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 91,839 miles high for a 2016 TESLA MODEL S?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 TESLA MODEL S listings at auction averaged 105,236 miles across 963 sales, so at 91,839 miles this one sits 13% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
