Question 1

Was $9,000 a good price for this 2021 TESLA MODEL 3?

Accepted Answer

3815 comparable 2021 TESLA MODEL 3 listings sold at auction for a median of $6,600, spanning $3,800 to $9,925. At $9,000 this one went 36% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

This TESLA MODEL 3 sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this TESLA MODEL 3 sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2021 TESLA MODEL 3's pre-damage retail value at $29,574. It sold for $9,000 — 70% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this TESLA MODEL 3 from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in NC - CHINA GROVE. The nearest major vehicle export port is Charleston, roughly 280 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$325, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does a salvage title mean for this TESLA MODEL 3?

Accepted Answer

This 2021 TESLA MODEL 3 was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 6

Is 65,042 miles high for a 2021 TESLA MODEL 3?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2021 TESLA MODEL 3 listings at auction averaged 64,398 miles across 3815 sales, so at 65,042 miles this one sits 1% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
