Question 1

This NISSAN ALTIMA sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 2

What does a salvage certificate-wv mean for this NISSAN ALTIMA?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 NISSAN ALTIMA was sold on a salvage certificate-wv. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 3

How far is this NISSAN ALTIMA from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in WV - BUCKHANNON. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 300 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

Is 78,500 miles high for a 2017 NISSAN ALTIMA?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 NISSAN ALTIMA listings at auction averaged 81,206 miles across 616 sales, so at 78,500 miles this one sits 3% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

Who sold this 2017 NISSAN ALTIMA?

Accepted Answer

The listing seller was ERIE INSURANCE GROUP. Seller type is a useful signal: insurers typically consign total-loss vehicles, rental and fleet operators consign on a cycle regardless of damage, and dealers consign trade-ins they do not want to retail. Each implies a different history behind the same damage label.

Question 6

Can I buy this 2017 NISSAN ALTIMA from AutoBidCar?

Accepted Answer

No. AutoBidCar is an archive of past auction listings, not a seller — we have never owned this vehicle. This 2017 NISSAN ALTIMA was listed at IAAI as lot 40308429 and any sale happened there. We publish the record so buyers can research what comparable vehicles actually sold for.
