Question 1

What do hail 2016 NISSAN ALTIMA models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 35 recorded sales of the 2016 NISSAN ALTIMA with hail damage, the median was $3,975, from $3,350 to $4,900. That is 17% above the $3,400 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,550 a good price for this 2016 NISSAN ALTIMA?

Accepted Answer

357 comparable 2016 NISSAN ALTIMA listings sold at auction for a median of $3,400, spanning $3,000 to $4,450. At $3,550 this one went 4% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this NISSAN ALTIMA sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 NISSAN ALTIMA's pre-damage retail value at $13,000. It sold for $3,550 — 73% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a clean title mean for this NISSAN ALTIMA?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 NISSAN ALTIMA was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 5

This NISSAN ALTIMA has hail and rear end damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 6

Is 116,636 miles high for a 2016 NISSAN ALTIMA?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 NISSAN ALTIMA listings at auction averaged 82,168 miles across 357 sales, so at 116,636 miles this one sits 42% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
