Question 1

Was $3,550 a good price for this 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ METRIS?

Accepted Answer

104 comparable 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ METRIS listings sold at auction for a median of $5,300, spanning $3,250 to $8,300. At $3,550 this one went 33% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

This MERCEDES-BENZ METRIS sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

What does a salvage mean for this MERCEDES-BENZ METRIS?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ METRIS was sold on a salvage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 4

How far is this MERCEDES-BENZ METRIS from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in VA - FREDERICKSBURG. The nearest major vehicle export port is Norfolk, roughly 120 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ METRIS. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 143,177 miles high for a 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ METRIS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ METRIS listings at auction averaged 121,799 miles across 104 sales, so at 143,177 miles this one sits 18% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
