Question 1

This MERCEDES-BENZ METRIS sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 2

What does a clear mean for this MERCEDES-BENZ METRIS?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ METRIS was sold on a clear. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 3

How far is this MERCEDES-BENZ METRIS from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at IAAI in WV - SHINNSTON. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 300 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 4

Is 161,873 miles high for a 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ METRIS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ METRIS listings at auction averaged 131,644 miles across 155 sales, so at 161,873 miles this one sits 23% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 5

What can I find out from VIN WD3PG2EAXG3152152?

Accepted Answer

WD3PG2EAXG3152152 identifies this specific 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ METRIS with a 2.0l i-4 di, dohc, vvt, turbo, 208hp engine, rear wheel drive. This page covers its auction history only. For ownership, servicing and reported accidents, run the VIN through Carfax, AutoCheck or NMVTIS — those records are separate from ours and we cannot change them.

Question 6

Can I buy this 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ METRIS from AutoBidCar?

Accepted Answer

No. AutoBidCar is an archive of past auction listings, not a seller — we have never owned this vehicle. This 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ METRIS was listed at IAAI as lot 42751989 and any sale happened there. We publish the record so buyers can research what comparable vehicles actually sold for.
