Question 1

Was $31,000 a good price for this 2018 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE?

Accepted Answer

1512 comparable 2018 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE listings sold at auction for a median of $9,200, spanning $5,500 to $15,000. At $31,000 this one went 237% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

How much below its undamaged value did this MERCEDES-BENZ GLE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2018 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE's pre-damage retail value at $71,039. It sold for $31,000 — 56% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 3

What does a clean title mean for this MERCEDES-BENZ GLE?

Accepted Answer

This 2018 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 4

This MERCEDES-BENZ GLE has vandalism and minor dent/scratches damage — how does that affect it?

Accepted Answer

Damage recorded in two areas usually points to a heavier impact than either label suggests on its own, and it raises the odds of structural damage behind the panels. The auction records the primary and secondary areas only; it does not assess the frame. Photographs and, where available, a physical inspection are the only way to judge how far it goes.

Question 5

What does "RUN AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUN AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 138,830 miles high for a 2018 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE listings at auction averaged 91,935 miles across 1512 sales, so at 138,830 miles this one sits 51% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
