Question 1

What do front end 2018 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 781 recorded sales of the 2018 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE with front end damage, the median was $8,400, from $5,150 to $13,300. That is 8% below the $9,125 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $23,700 a good price for this 2018 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE?

Accepted Answer

1553 comparable 2018 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE listings sold at auction for a median of $9,125, spanning $5,450 to $14,600. At $23,700 this one went 160% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this MERCEDES-BENZ GLE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2018 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE's pre-damage retail value at $43,591. It sold for $23,700 — 46% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does "ENGINE STARTS" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENGINE STARTS is the auction's own condition note for this 2018 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE. It is a short status flag applied by the auction, not the result of a mechanical inspection. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 5

How far is this MERCEDES-BENZ GLE from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in PA - PENNSBURG. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 150 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 6

Is 67,749 miles high for a 2018 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2018 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE listings at auction averaged 92,520 miles across 1553 sales, so at 67,749 miles this one sits 27% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
