Question 1

What do front end 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 767 recorded sales of the 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE with front end damage, the median was $8,000, from $4,250 to $12,500. That is 7% below the $8,600 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $8,900 a good price for this 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE?

Accepted Answer

1506 comparable 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE listings sold at auction for a median of $8,600, spanning $4,650 to $14,100. At $8,900 this one went 3% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this MERCEDES-BENZ GLE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE's pre-damage retail value at $12,594. It sold for $8,900 — 29% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this MERCEDES-BENZ GLE from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in IL - ELGIN. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 700 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $450-$675, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does a salvage title mean for this MERCEDES-BENZ GLE?

Accepted Answer

This 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE was sold on a salvage title. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 6

Is 126,080 miles high for a 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE listings at auction averaged 101,438 miles across 1506 sales, so at 126,080 miles this one sits 24% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
