Question 1

Was $4,950 a good price for this 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE?

Accepted Answer

1538 comparable 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE listings sold at auction for a median of $8,500, spanning $4,600 to $14,000. At $4,950 this one went 42% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

This MERCEDES-BENZ GLE sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this MERCEDES-BENZ GLE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE's pre-damage retail value at $24,333. It sold for $4,950 — 80% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this MERCEDES-BENZ GLE from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in CT - NEW BRITAIN. The nearest major vehicle export port is Newark, roughly 120 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does "ENHANCED" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENHANCED is the auction's own condition note for this 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE. It marks a lot the auction has given extra listing prominence, not a statement about condition. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

Is 51,363 miles high for a 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE listings at auction averaged 108,015 miles across 1538 sales, so at 51,363 miles this one sits 52% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
