Question 1

What do mechanical 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 17 recorded sales of the 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE with mechanical damage, the median was $9,475, from $6,700 to $15,000. That is 16% above the $8,200 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $3,500 a good price for this 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE?

Accepted Answer

1629 comparable 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE listings sold at auction for a median of $8,200, spanning $4,650 to $14,000. At $3,500 this one went 57% below that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this MERCEDES-BENZ GLE sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE's pre-damage retail value at $11,250. It sold for $3,500 — 69% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this MERCEDES-BENZ GLE from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in TX - NEW BRAUNFELS. The nearest major vehicle export port is Houston, roughly 200 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $250-$350, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

What does a clean title mean for this MERCEDES-BENZ GLE?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE was sold on a clean title. A clean title means no total-loss brand was recorded at the point of sale, which is unusual at salvage auctions and typically lifts the price.

Question 6

Is 165,087 miles high for a 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ GLE listings at auction averaged 113,193 miles across 1629 sales, so at 165,087 miles this one sits 46% above that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.
