Question 1

Was $6,400 a good price for this 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

937 comparable 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS listings sold at auction for a median of $4,800, spanning $3,350 to $7,500. At $6,400 this one went 33% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 2

This MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS sold without keys — does that matter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, usually. A missing key means the vehicle often cannot be started or moved under its own power at the yard, so its condition is harder to verify and buyers bid more cautiously. Replacing a modern key and reprogramming it to the immobiliser typically runs into the hundreds. It is one of the more common reasons an otherwise sound car sells below its comparables.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS's pre-damage retail value at $26,553. It sold for $6,400 — 76% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

How far is this MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in AL - BIRMINGHAM. The nearest major vehicle export port is New Orleans, roughly 350 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $300-$425, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.

Question 5

Is 67,967 miles high for a 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

Comparable 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS listings at auction averaged 97,518 miles across 937 sales, so at 67,967 miles this one sits 30% below that. At salvage auctions mileage moves the price far less than damage does — a low-mileage car with structural damage will still sell under a higher-mileage clean one.

Question 6

What does "ENHANCED VEHICLES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

ENHANCED VEHICLES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS. It marks a lot the auction has given extra listing prominence, not a statement about condition. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.
