Question 1

What do water/flood 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS models sell for?

Accepted Answer

Across 16 recorded sales of the 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS with water/flood damage, the median was $4,600, from $3,650 to $8,000. That is 4% below the $4,800 median for the model across every damage type, over the last 36 months. Estimates from past sales, not a valuation.

Question 2

Was $5,400 a good price for this 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

941 comparable 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS listings sold at auction for a median of $4,800, spanning $3,350 to $7,500. At $5,400 this one went 13% above that median. Auction prices reflect as-is condition, so the gap usually comes down to damage severity, mileage and whether the car runs.

Question 3

How much below its undamaged value did this MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS sell for?

Accepted Answer

The insurer put this 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS's pre-damage retail value at $15,714. It sold for $5,400 — 66% below that. A gap this size is normal for auction vehicles: the buyer takes on the repair cost, the paperwork and the risk that damage is worse than the photos show.

Question 4

What does a cert of salvage-flood damage mean for this MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS?

Accepted Answer

This 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS was sold on a cert of salvage-flood damage. A salvage title means an insurer declared the vehicle a total loss. Repairing it and passing a state inspection can convert it to a rebuilt title, which stays on the record permanently and affects resale value.

Question 5

What does "RUNS AND DRIVES" mean on this listing?

Accepted Answer

RUNS AND DRIVES is the auction's own condition note for this 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS. It means the vehicle started and moved under its own power during a brief check at the yard. It is not a mechanical inspection and says nothing about how far it would drive. Anything beyond that has to come from the photos and a physical inspection.

Question 6

How far is this MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS from an export port?

Accepted Answer

The lot sat at COPART in DC - WASHINGTON DC. The nearest major vehicle export port is Baltimore, roughly 40 miles away. Moving a car that distance on an open carrier typically runs $200-$300, which is a real part of the landed cost and one reason identical cars fetch different bids depending on where they sit. Rates are indicative market figures rather than quotes, and rise with fuel prices and in winter.
